Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc Celebrates a Hundred Years of Glamour at the Eden-Roc Pavilion
The
famous Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc,on the French Riviera,is proud to celebrate the
100th Anniversary of the Eden-Roc Pavilion and its famous seawater
swimming pool.
Renowned as the ultimate ‘see and be seen’ celebrity
hotspot of the Cote d’Azur, the Eden-Roc Pavilion and the adjacent Eden-Roc
Restaurant will be hosting some of the most glamorous events of
the Riviera’s Summer Season, including two ultra-gourmet Gala Dinners presided
over by Michelin-starred chefs and award-winning sommeliers.
The Eden-Roc Pavilion was created in 1914 when a sea-water pool was hollowed
out of the basalt rock below the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc. This landmark pool
grew in fame in the 1950s and 1960s when it bore witness to the ‘landing’ of
the world’s elite in an eclectic parade from the Kennedy family,to the Duke
and Duchess of Windsor,to Marlene Dietrich, F. Scott Fitzgerald,and Ernest
Hemingway.
Today, the Eden-Roc Pavilion is still at the centre of thE French
Riviera’s buzzing social scene, where Hollywood film stars can be seen rubbing
shoulders with European royalty and the world’s glitterati.
The Eden-Roc Pavilion will celebrate the launch of its 100th
Summer Season with a Gala Dinner on 9th May 2014, just a few days
before the Cannes Film Festival. The Gala Dinner has been developed as a
journey through time that will retrace the gastronomic highlights of the last
100 yearsand bring back to life the men and women that marked the hotel’s
history.
The Eden-Roc Pavillion will also be celebratingthe end of its 100th Summer Seasonon 5th September 2014 with a second ultra-luxurious and ultra-gourmet Gala Dinner in the presence of three of the World’s Best Sommeliers- Serge Dubs, Markus Del Monego, and Andreas Larson. The September Gala food-pairing dinner will be created by 10 of the world’s leading chefs including 3 Michelin-Starred Chef Eric Frechon from Le Bristol Paris’ Epicure Restaurant and his Head Pastry Chef Laurent Jeannin, as well as 1 Michelin-Starred Chef Paul Stradner from the Brenners Park Hotel & Spa, and 1 Michelin-Starred Chef Franck Ferigutti.
Also in attendance will be
Nicolas Davouze, Executive Sous-Chef, Bocuse d’Or France 2014, and Pastry
Chef Florent Margaillan from Le Château Saint-Martin & Spa, as well as
Antoine Perray, Head Chef from the Palais Namaskar, and Executive Chef Arnaud
Poëtte & Chef Olivier Gaiatto of the Eden-Roc restaurant, and Lilian
Bonnefoi, Pastry Chef from the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc.
In addition to the two Gala Dinners to mark the opening and close of its 100th
Summer Season, the Eden-Roc Pavilion will be celebrating its special
connection to the film industry over the last 100 years with a showcase of
silent films, including the Charlie Chaplin collection, to be aired on a
giant open-air screen by the pool throughout the Summer.
