SHANGRI-LA HOTEL, KUALA LUMPUR
CELEBRATES FATHER’S DAY AT LAFITE
Father’s Day on 15 June 2014 will be bonding time for Dad and son
or Dad and daughter in a cooking programme at Lafite organised by Shangri‑La
Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.
The two-day programme, titled “Dad’s the Way on Father’s Day”, will
take place in the hotel kitchen, headed by Executive Chef Rudolf Kunkel.
The first day of the programme will begin with all fathers and
children visiting a supermarket in Kuala Lumpur. Led by Chef Kunkel, they will learn how to
choose fresh seafood.
After the visit, they will return to Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur,
where Chef Kunkel and his assistants will teach them how to prepare a Father’s
Day lunch, followed by a light meal.
In the morning of Father’s Day, the participants will cook lunch in
the hotel kitchen. The children will
then serve the four-course lunch to their fathers at Lafite, joined by other
members of their family.
After lunch, there will be a graduation ceremony for the
participants, who will receive certificates from Chef Kunkel and pose for a
group picture.
Each participant will pay a fee of RM250 nett for the cooking class
and lunch at Lafite. The price also
includes a chef’s jacket, apron, chef’s hat and certificate.
Families of the participating father and child will have to book a
table for a minimum four persons (including the father and child) at Lafite to
enjoy the four-course lunch at RM150 nett per person.
As the programme involves actual cooking experience in the hotel
kitchen, the minimum age limit for the participants has been set at six years
and above. The cooking class will be
limited to 30 participants.
